For Friends Who Feast. Get your foodie friends together, Taste of Auckland in partnership with Electrolux is back with its biggest line-up to date from 16 – 19 November at Western Springs. This feature-packed festival is your annual opportunity to get fully immersed in the best of our food and drink scene in a fun-filled afternoon or evening. Spend a day strolling through a green-grass park while grazing on signature dishes from some of our best restaurants. Get intimate with one of your favourite chefs, taste your way through amazing wines, craft beers and cocktails, discover new treats and lose yourself in the festival village. Your soundtrack for the day is programmed by the legendary Peter Urlich with live bands and DJs creating an unbeatable festival atmosphere. Authentic Northern Thai from Saan, next-level meatballs from Baduzzi or fusion flavour-bomb from Tok Tok? How about a modern classic from Euro, some smoky BBQ from Miss Moonshines or some Russian inspired treats from Vodka Room? You can even try our Gourmet Hangi featuring bespoke dishes from a different chef each day. Back after last year’s inaugural success, Electrolux Chefs’ Secrets will give restaurant aficionados the opportunity to intimately cook and dine with some of the country’s top names in food, including Nic Watt of True Food & Yoga, The Fearless Kitchen’s Vanessa Baxter and FISH chef Fraser Shenton. The ever-popular Electrolux Taste Theatre hosted by food writer Delaney Mes will return with free live cooking demonstrations, offering guests the opportunity to learn first-hand from the country’s leading culinary stars including George Calombaris (Saturday afternoon and evening), Art Green and Matilda Rice, wholefood writer Kelly Gibney and Cazador chef Dariush Lolaiy. Shop-a-holic? Taste has you covered with over 100 artisans set up in the park with everything from Champagne to chocolate, cheese to cold brew. Meet the brewer, chat with the winemaker and get tips from the growers. TICKET OPTIONS: Taste of Auckland operates like a restaurant with a lunch and dinner service. A Taste session lasts for 4-5 hours (session dependent) to give you time to enjoy your pick of restaurant dishes, browse the artisan stalls, do some shopping, enjoy some of the many exciting features and meet some of the fabulous personalities involved. Tickets are sold for each session and are only valid for the time and date indicated on the ticket. As the event date gets closer some ticket allocations may run out at which point the next release of tickets will go on sale for a slightly higher price. Sessions may differ in price so check a couple to see which appeals most to you. Taste of Auckland is an all-weather event with 5,000 square meters of marquee with covered walkways in-between the stalls and enough ground cover should it be needed.
