The Volunteer Fire Brigade service the wider Rodney region and ensure that along with the paid Fire Service crew, a 24/7 fire rescue service is available and fund raisers such as this are vital to ensure new equipment is always on hand, community fire awareness is continually able to be re-enforced, and assisting with things such as Fire Alarm installation for senior citizens.

The rationale of the day is to encourage family attendance of a professional Guy Fawkes event, versus risking personal safety by purchasing retail fireworks. Over the past 5 consecutive events, only one fire work related call out has been attended which is confirmation that the message behind the day is working

On the day displays will include: burning car rescues, kitchen fire demonstrations, car extrications and full carnival operates throughout to ensure the entire family are ‘thrilled’. All in all a fun afternoon for all!

The evening hosts a picnic in the park scenario so bring your picnic and a blanket and listen to the band @sons of melody.

Timeline is 4pm to 6pm fire rescue displays and carnival. 6pm to 9pm picnic & concert in the park. 9pm fireworks display
