Went to Sale street last night for after work drinks. It's a pretty cool venue but just too big (for this sort of situation anyway). Drinks pretty pricey - just hope that Sale Street don't hike their prices up to much for the world cup.
Great place for a social after work drink, always busy so get in early to get an outside table and enjoy the last of the sunshine

Sale St is simply amazing!!!!!! great outdoor area!!!!! good food!!!! What more can you ask from the place
Now with the introduction of Dallows and new chef NIck Honeyman Sale Street has a fine dining restaurant that is oozing with fresh ideas, fresh food and a gorgeous dining experience.
Not pretensions, Nick Honeyman, who apparently has worked in fine dining restaurants in Paris and Tokyo appears to have stuck a perfect balance.
His food is incredibly well constructed and the flavours are really thought out. The food presentation is artistic without being showy, there is a fantastic range of plates for a range of pallets.
We have had the tiger prawns, massive and succulent, the beef, rare and a blended with shallot puree.
Nick is also a wiz with the deserts, not a real desert fan these are just a fantastic treat at the end of the meal.
The service is sharp and attentive. We have also sampled the bar menu for after work drinks and the squid is crispy and delicious, the pork belly a great asian coriander plate to share while the snapper pie is out of this world.
Auckland change your view of this place Dallows is now a restaurant to challenge the big names like Meredith’s or the French cafe, all with a better more relaxed attitude a focus on great but un-pretentious food.
Last time we went to dinner here back in October of last year we were blown away with the food & service, telling all our friends to come try some fine dining at a very affordable price.
Sadly our very resent experience was some what of a disapointment, food was cold & over cooked, presentation was lacking the flair of what we can only amagine most have been another Chef.
Service staff very rude and lacking experience.
But if you do want to try this restaurant make sure you bring in pen & paper or learn sign language, because you can't hear a thing after 8 p.m.
From best to worst, don't waist your time...
Enjoyed lunch here twice now and the service and the food consistantly good. Awesome decor and while some of the staff are obviously new to the industry they are all pleasant and helpful. Dinner was great, food beautifully presented and nothing too much trouble. The bar was busy and packed but the ambiance remained. Definitely going to be a regular!! The Auckland city council is a bit mean tho!! midnight and you have to come inside to drink.
We were told we had to have a set menu, $55 each for two courses, for the restaurant since there were more than 11 of us. Expecting to be ripped off with small portions and bad service (like other set menu/banquet experiences at other venues) we had low expectations, but were pleasantly surprised. The food was divine, portions generous and we had a great waiter. The only problem was the noise from the bar & dj, it was excessive.
Not sure what Sale St are aiming at with a high class resaurant in their bar? The two don't go together nor match the brewery theme. If you don't mind only being able to talk to the person next to you - not across or further down the table then you will enjoy your dining. And you get to avoid the 7 deep queue for the bar that the other non-restaurant customers had to endure.
