Friday, February 10, 2012 The Essential Guide to Auckland
The epic world tour started out in Arizona, October 2008 in support of their current album Death Magnetic (Universal Music). During the last decade alone Metallica have played to a collective audience of more than 3.5 million people. Currently on tour in Europe, the Australian and New Zealand dates mark the culmination of their world tour and will be Metallica’s first Australian shows since January 2004. Formed in 1981, Metallica have become one of the most popular and influential bands in the world, successfully spanning the divide between metal and mainstream audiences and selling more than 100 million records worldwide (the 7th biggest selling act in American music history). Taking to the stage for more than two hours Metallica will feature material drawn from throughout their career, performing in the round in the centre of the arena, on a custom built stage and with their full world tour production.
