Labour Weekend Highlights
Labour weekend - what's not to love? Three glorious days of freedom where you can party, picnic or purchase to your hearts content. If you're not joining the throng of Aucklanders heading out of the big smoke these holidays then check out our suggestions to make the most of your additional day off.

Urban Adventures
Take a moment to appreciate just how good we've got it in Auckland. Climb Mangere Mountain, step back in time and visit historic Devonport or get some sand between your toes at one of Auckland's iconic West coast beaches. There's really no excuse to plead boredom.

Retail Therapy
Get a head start on your christmas shopping and pick up a fair few bargains in the process. Aucklanders know how to shop, of that there's no denying. The major malls (Sylvia Park / Westfield / NorthWest) and shopping precincts may well be just the distraction you've been after. Check with individual retailers for exact shop hours though as these vary greatly.

Catch A Flick
Film-goers are spoilt for choice at the moment with a glut of well-received movies providing the perfect excuse to sit back, relax and absorb two hours of quality entertainment. Our picks? Jack Reacher, Shin Godzilla, Deepwater Horizon, The Girl On The Train and Cafe Society. For session times, reviews and trailers, head on over to our cinema channel.

Eat Your Way Around The City
We can honestly say that in over 10 years of bringing you the best of Auckland, we've never seen the restaurant space so good. It's unbelievable, with just about every cuisine you could wish for on offer and dining precincts seemingly popping up overnight. If you're after some sweet deals, head along to the brand new Miann Britomart where you eat all kinds of badness to your hearts content or discover the delights of any number of new eateries including Amano, Culprit or Frasers. Prepare to loosen up that belt.
