Jeremy Elwood Interview
Jeremy Elwood Interview
Jeremy Elwood is currently performing at the NZ Comedy Festival, with his new stand-up show (un)common Sense.

Morning Jeremy! How's the festival going?

Jeremy

So far so good! It's been really interesting for me trying to keep up with all the current events. I managed to crow-bar in a few pieces on Don Brash and ACT on Saturday and then on my day off they capture Osama Bin Laden and there's a tornado in Albany!

Is it difficult to get that up-to-date material into the show?

Jeremy

No it's actually not too bad as the show's pretty fluid. Sometimes it's easy, like the Bin Laden story. i got five or six minutes of material just from the first announcement. With local events you have to be a bit more careful especially with things like Christchurch where you're not sure how things will play out.
So the upcoming election must be a gold-mine of material?

Jeremy

Well now that ACT are back in the frame, I think that they'll be front and centre. Before that happened, it was in danger of being a dull election, but with Don Brash all bets are off! Hone Harawira is making things interesting as well with the upcoming by-election, so there will be some good stuff coming out of that.
