*The APO are disappointed to announce that Deborah Voigt is unable to appear with the orchestra in this concert. She is undergoing emergency hip surgery and has therefore had to cancel her Australasian performances."

Ms Voigt has expressed her immense disappointment and offers her sincere apologies to her many New Zealand fans.

The APO are, however, delighted to announce that Grammy Award-winning soprano Christine Brewer will appear instead. Christine Brewer was named by BBC Music magazine as one of the 20 greatest sopranos of the recorded era, was declared a “superlative Strauss singer” by the New York Times, and is admired around the world for her range, golden tone, power and control.
