On Saturday the 17th of November, just over a year after the release of their debut album, Six60 will take the stage at Auckland's seated ASB Theatre for an unprecedented one off live extravaganza; a show in three parts: Live & Massive, Unplugged & with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra.
1. How did Six60 first get together?
Matiu
We got together while studying at Otago University. In our second year a few of us moved into 660 Castle St and started playing music. It moved from my room to local bars and flat parties until we released our EP in 2009.
2. Which song(s) is your absolute favourite - what’s the meaning behind it? (From Six60)
Matiu
Lost and Rest of you are my favorite songs. They are effortless and natural and speak about love, loss, confrontation and relief.
Lost
Rest Of You
3. Which crowds respond the best to your music?
Matiu
No one in particular, just anyone up for a good time.
4. Are you looking forward to a change of pace playing with APO this November in Auckland? Who came up with the idea?
Matiu
Yes we are looking forward to it. We are equally as nervous as we are excited, because this is new territory for us and our fans. We are in a beautiful seated venue, something we have never done before, and will be playing a far more dynamic three-part show (unplugged, live & massive and with the APO).
