Beach vibe at it's best. I love the interior in Zomer. Its blue, white, and yellow theme is a fragment of a painting of the most adorable summer. Inside is warm and fuzzy even if it's raining outdoors. The food is also a delight. Zomer is a great stop for lunch or friendly coffee/tea.

Was recommended Zomer by a friend some time ago and finally got a chance to go mid week.
It's lovely and open and sits really nicely alongside Takapuna's beach vista. Staff also super - friendly and welcoming. Why the 3 stars then? My choice of the croquettes was, in the end, a poor one. Bland, tasteless - not a highlight! The upshot is the coffee is good...I'll give Zomer another go but won't be ordering that dish again.

fantastic wee cafe in Takapuna that's well worth a visit. It's see-facing so a bit breezy but with that, lovely, open and summery.
Service fantastic - welcoming, friendly and efficient - perfect.
The menu at Zomer is also really appealing - I had the bruschetta yesterday served with fried ricotta and bacon and it was divine.
Zomer's menu is dutch influenced and there's so much to take in, reason enough for a few more trips to takapuna this summer.

really impressed with Zomer. Went over the weekend and despite the weather not being the best it proved to be pretty popular. Come summer (a real one) I can see Zomer and the whole new McKenzie precinct being the spot to head to.If you're after a cheese toastie...this is the place!!!

What a difference a few venues and some sunshine make! Haven't always been a fan of Takapuna's dining options - they've all been fairly ho-hum - but with the addition of the likes of Elske, Mexico and now Zomer, this place is starting to hum.
I visited Zomer on Tuesday. Great, open space with a large communal table and then table seating both inside and out. Fairly windy so opted for the inside.
Greeted on arrival (nice touch btw) - the staff are lovely and bubbly and you can't help but let this rub off on you.
The moroccan chicken salad was fantastic and the coffee, naturally so.
At the time I visited there wasn't a lot left (treat wise) but no doubt will be returning for many visits as the weather heats up. Go the 0622!

Zomer is a sister cafe to Zus and Zu, so if you are a fan of the Jervois Rd cafe you can now find something similar on the Shore. Great coffee (though perhaps slightly on the small side?), lovely pastries and delicious, fresh tasting menu options. Mum and I shared a goat's cheese and asparagus sandwich which was very nice. The croissant filled with chocolate and topped with a berry compote was also great and something a little different. A nice spot in the sun on the beach side of Taka today, although they are sure to need some umbrellas once summer kicks in!

Made the most of the sunshine on Friday and called in to Zomer on the way back from a walk along Takapuna beach.
Very busy and although its quite a small space, staff seemed to take it in its stride. The baking is delicious too and only glad I'd had a decent walk beforehand. Good luck to the Zomer guys - I for one will be back weekly and its great to have a bit more choice along this area of Takapuna.
