I love the Wine Chambers (ex LegalChambers). The entire room is lined with shelves stacked with wine bottles. Everything else is dark timber, simple and classy. I hear the place buzzes during the day with business people and I think it would be a great day time stop in.The offering are simple but make it so much easier to make a decision. The entree offerings include caesar salad, Smoked Salmon with broadbeans & raddish, Wild Mushroom Risotto, all very nice with lovely presentation. My favourite wine was on the menu, Pallisar Sauv – yum!The Lamb was the standout dish. It came with a tasty celeriac puree, kumara fondant and with a side of roast potatoes and brussel sprouts cooked in butter with bacon. A very big portion! We certainly had'nt room for desserts but as we had paid for a 3 course meal we had our arms twisted, Creme' Brulee was dissappointing with no hard sugar top but sweet with the tiny shortbread on the side. The other was a coconut pannacotta which was really nice with the marinated pineapple but the freeze dried pineapple I didn't enjoy the strange constistency. The service by a obvious trainee or a very unconfident young lady could have been better. But as the restaurant was not busy we were tended to enough. The 3 course deal was definite value for money and I will be back.
Wine Chambers offers a wide selection of wine along with tasty and well presented food to accompany your selection.
The staff are warm and welcoming. Level of attentiveness was attentive enough, without being intrusive.
Food was very tasty and well portioned. Desserts were yummy. I had the chocolate fondant, served with salted caramel ice-cream. Done perfectly so that the middle was filled with flowing chocolate sauce and outside was baked to a crisp.
Prices are expensive, but not at the range which will break the bank. Wine Chambers also offers private dining rooms. Their set menus look reasonable and include some tasty offerings.
I really enjoyed dining at Wine Chambers with its warm and cosy environment. Highly recommend the place as a dining option.
