White and One, Epsom - Cafe Review
The stretch between the central city and the Airport is void of good quality coffee joints...until now. The Greenwoods Corner location makes it popular with the local community - something which is truly apparent as cafe-goers are greeted with a warm smile and a sense of familiarity. White and One is a small space along the busy thoroughfare of Pah road, but that doesn't seem to detract from the willingness of visitors to hang around a while.
Friendly and chatty - to be fair there's not a lot to go wrong given the limited offering but a conversation is welcome nonetheless.
Excellent coffee from the Supreme stable. If you're in need of a sweet fix, grab a mocha and you'll also get you laughing gear around an old-skool chewy caramel bar that should keep you occupied for a while.
Unfortunately there's not a great deal of choice with either the counter selection or a blackboard (actually mirror) menu. The home made toasted muesli at $9.50 wasn't anything to write home about but the chocolate and custard restored the faith.
The Bottom Line
Greenwoods Corner is a quaint little piece of Auckland's history and now with great Supreme coffee and friendly staff in the vicinity, just another reason to spend a moment and explore. White and One could do to expand their food offering but that's just a minor negative
A Reason To Return
No more Airport-coffee for me! On your next Airport run, do take my advice and allow yourself an additional 20 mins for the travel time. Well worth it.
