Hands down I have the pleasure of saying Wai Kitchen is by far my favourite place for brunch now and looking at the lunch menu I must return! Its a shame its not on the mainland though.
The thing I am most impressed by is their no fear attitude in writing both the food and drinks menu. I get so fed up of bacon and eggs, eggs Benedict and the other usual suspects. The best two examples of this are instead of bacon and eggs its pancetta and eggs, onion marmalade, vine tomatoes, local toast. instead of yogurt and fruit compote its summer berries, orange blossom yogurt, baby basil, local honeycomb.
The whole place seems fresh and bright, even the drinks have wonderful variety, you get to choose your brand of hot chocolate, cadbury's and the pricey Valrhona amongst the choices.
My drink I went for was the white tea and rose syrup ice tea which was very refreshing.

Onto the food my dinning partner and I both had pancetta and eggs and added a side of colcannon. Eggs where cooked perfectly and that bacon was just incredible pancetta for breakfast more often. I couldn't fault the place really. Even the service was spot on, it was public holiday but there was no complaints paying the extra 15% on this occasion.

If you visit the island make sure you get to Wai Kitchen.

Arrived at Waiheke Island yesterday and headed to Wai Kitchen in Oneroa for lunch. Really scrumptious counter food...decisions decisions. I ended up going for the pancetta and eggs with vine ripened tomatoes...first class.
Views were great (even on an overcast Waiheke day) and with 4 days left on the island, I think I'll be finding every excuse to head back to Wai Kitchen!
