I had often driven past Verde and thought it was a garden store with a cafe.
I decided to take my wife there this weekend and realized that I was wrong.
It was a gorgeous little spot!!
Great food and coffee and a big retail side to the business selling great gifts and home-ware.
I went in for lunch and came out with a fantastic hanging lantern.

I got talking to the owners who were lovely-they are sisters who have recently bought the business.
I would definitely recommend dropping in to Verde if you were like me and thought their main trade was garden.

Verde is a strange one, combining a tacky house bits kind of shop with a collection of water features, and a cafe with a really limited offering. Non-attentive staff, OK coffee, average lunch. Worth a miss as there are plenty of better places in Takapuna.
