We went to this restaurant a month ago and we found that the food is not nice at all. The are not fresh and the dessert presentation wasn't good. the taste is very bland, and the service was bad as well. so we decided to go there anymore.

This Valentines is worth the drive across town – for the food at least. A vast array of dishes is available across all courses including nachos with the works, fresh seafood and a plentiful salad selection. Tasty chicken wings were a hit, lots of fresh, firm veges and best of all, well-baked kumara (with a decadent topping of sour cream). Hooray for pudding! Crunchy brandy snaps with fluffy whipped cream and moreish little choc fudge slices were heavenly. Service-wise, our experience was mixed. The welcome was decidedly lacking on arrival when a staff member was dismissive about the validity of a coupon we were presenting. We didn’t mind having to pay up front but felt rushed and didn’t have the opportunity to order drinks which would then have been included in the discount of the total bill). Restaurant staff, albeit fresh-faced, remained efficient and friendly despite the pressures of a busy lunch session on the final Friday of school holidays. The prime table position near games room keeps kids entertained so grown-ups can enjoy their meal, and maybe a coffee to round off.

We visited Valentines on the 28th of March and were please to find a wide variety of food to pick from. The service was great and our family had a great time.

08/01/2007 - We went to Pakuranga Valentines, as when we went a year ago, we found it to be alright. But after going this time round, we all agreed we won't be going back there at all!

The glassware on our table was all dirty, including the water jug; actual bits of food on outside of glasses. And after asking for new glassware, waited for 20 mins just for those. Foodwise, very bland, and even though Valetine's Restaurant was not full, it seemed a third of the food trays were empty, and even going back after 10-15mins, found they were still not refilled, to our dismay and other patrons there.

There was only 1-2 staff on the floor clearing tables. Even then, we had to place our used plates on an empty table beside us as no staff were in sight to even ask them to clear our table. The service, food quality and quantity were shocking. We would rather pay more and get our money's worth elsewhere. Sadly I feel too many of our smorgasboard places are being run by people who do not understand the concept of customer service and quality dining.
