Two Fifteen Bistro was recommended by a friend and took a special girl there.. Both of us love good food and we were not disappointed. Everything was wonderful and the owner was very charming and timed everything perfectly. Will be eating at Two Fifteen Bistro over and over. Loved the quiet tasteful decor too and the wine list. The chocolate dessert we shared was to die for!
I looked up Two Fifteen's website and the first thing I saw was a fantastic picture of piled high meat. Determined to find out if it was as good as it looked off I went last night. And yes, it may have been even better.
Even though we live 50km away, Two Fifteen is something like a 'regular' for us - we eat there probably 5-6 times a year. We have yet to be disappointed. Service is always superb; Keith in particular is always wonderful, but all the staff are welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly without being overbearing. The food is wonderful; with so many visits we have tried most things on the menu. For starters, my favourites are the calamari and the air dried beef with poached egg (sounds a bit weird, but is to die for). For mains - where to start? The eye fillet is always spot on, the snapper risotto divine, and the pork belly (when available) is my all-time favourite. Desserts are the only slightly weak link from my point of view - there's nothing wrong with them, just not too many things which appeal to my palate other than the sticky date pudding. However, the other courses are well portioned and I usually can't fit pudding anyway. Highly recommended.
My partner and I had a lovely night out at Mt Eden's Two Fifteen. For starters my partner had the tuna which was outstanding where as the crab empanadas I had were OK, but a little rich for my taste. For my main I had the lamb which was beautifully cooked and very enjoyable. My partner had the beef and really rated that too. The portions are pretty big so we shared a profiterole dessert which was lovely. The restaurant was a little on the cold side, nothing the wine didn't sort out and the service was outstanding. I'll definitely be back to dine at Two Fifteen.
Finally went to 215 for dinner and it was great. The ambience, decor, food and service were all terrific and one of the best meals the 4 of us had had for ages. Simon our waiter showed a great amount of knowledge of both food and wine, and was just friendly enough without being intrusive, but he was still very professional. Jeremy has done a great job and we really enjoyed everything we ate. The presentation was fabulous. We will be back, and will recommend to others. Not over the top pricewise either. Great!!
