The most HORRIBLE experience I have ever had. Should have read the reviews for Troy Restaurant before we went in. The food took an hour and 20 minutes to get to us - the service was none had to keep asking the waiter where our food was. Once our food had arrived it was not acceptable at all, the meat looked like it had been chewed and spat out, the tomato was burnt to a crisp - was actually black in colour. When I tried to tell the waiter I wasn't happy with the food he got the manager to come to talk to me - this was another experience on its own!! Instead of trying to rectify the situation the manager started an argument with me! He accused me of lying - that it didn't take an hour for our food to arrive, he then asked me if I had ever been to Persia because obviously I didn't know what I was talking about, he continued to scream at me and accusing me of trying to get a free meal (even though I didn't even touch my food) he went on at me to the point the whole restaurant was starting to stare at us. I have never been so embarrassed and absolutely taken back by this guys approach. I would urge anyone thinking of going here to think twice. The meal most definitely was not worth what we had paid or experienced. PLEASE BE AWARE!!
Went to Troys on Friday 26 October with my husband for our 10 year wedding anniversary. I had brought a voucher off Groupon. Got to the restaurant and we're told that the voucher was wrong, that the deal was something else. My response several times was the it is false advertising... The waitress went away and the, I am assuming the head waitress or maitre d came over and explained how the voucher was wrong and offered us another deal for the same price which was better. Excellent, problem solved. After the trouble with the voucher we were well looked after. the food was awesome and the belly dancer was spectacular. The decor is not exactly modern and could maybe do with an extension, putting a covered deck out the back would be a real asset. I could go on, but I recommend you go see and try for yourself.
Have to say reading these reviews was a shock! Troy Restaurant is an absolute treat, especially on the weekends. The setting is fantastic...its like your dining in an ancient trojan ship. The new bar in place has been done up nicely and the overall service is courteous and meet your every need. Will definitely be back, when its not so packed....probably during the week!
A perfect cool place for an absolutely amazing night out, specially on the friday and Saturday's nights with Belle dancer. food is amazing...service is very appreciable....all the staff is very friendly . i visited Troy Restaurant & Bar for the birthday party of my daughter on saturday night..........and went out completely satisfied with the product they offered ! the coolest thing about Troy Restaurant is its ambiance and the generosity and smile that its staff would treat you.a perfect place to dine out.........i really wonder why people would have bad reviews for such a nice place ?
Unfortunately this is the lowest rating available! I would have given it zero stars! Not only was the food the worst I've ever experienced including fast food joints! The staff were rude, unattending (having to continuously head up to the bar or ask at the desk for attendance).
We were also over charged by $109 and attempts of adding bottles of wine we didn't order or meals also.
Which meant another drive over to sort this over payment out! Utterly disappointing night out for a work function!!
I cannot emphasis enough how bad the food was!!
food was terrible, service was really bad.
we orderd king prawns in shell as entree and that was a joke, $15 for shrimps more like it.
food was uncooked and fatty. overall very bad experience.
We got seated at a lovely table in front of the fire which was perfect on the cold night that it was. After being given our menus and brought our drinks, we got told that the table had actually been booked by someone else and that we had to move to another table. We were left to move our menus, drinks, coats, bags, cutlery and plates over to another table. The food was overpriced - mine was more expensive than my friends, even though the meals were EXACTLY the same except for the fact he also had pita bread (he got MORE food than my MORE EXPENSIVE meal??). The dessert was an utter disappointment - especially after waiting for half an hour to get it - he had DRY chocolate mudcake, and my lemon meringue pie was nothing like it should have been - we called into some friends afterwards who had happened to have made some that night and her 'failed' one was amazingly better than the one we had to buy!
