The Oyster Inn Waiheke Information

Waiheke Island's Oyster Inn — just 40 minutes on a beautiful ferry ride from downtown Auckland in the beachy village of Oneroa — celebrates long, sun-kissed days of summer. Take a seat on our ocean-view restaurant verandah or in our breezy dining room and savour our menu inspired by coastal classics, or just drop by and enjoy a summer cocktail or crisp glass of wine at our bar. Arrive when you like, eat when you like — the kitchen is open all day. Pop in to check out our chic little beach shop, and if you love the island as much as we do and can't bear to leave, stay with us in one of The Oyster Inn's three luxury boutique hotel rooms.

The Oyster Inn, a great place to go after our Wine Tour on Waiheke Island has a lovely balcony overlooking the Oneroa main street.

The new fit out with recycled-wood furniture and a simple contemporary finish. I'd love to try the B&B attached next time I want to stay on Waiheke. The Chef comes from a Peter Gordon restaurant in London.

For my entree I enjoyed the Crayfish Risotto which was nicely balanced and cray not overcooked. For my main the Pork belly. I was personally disappointed that it didn't have any crispy crackling. But my friend enjoyed it so much that instead of having dessert he had a second order of this dish.

I had too much wine to bother with dessert. The wine list btw was very good. I'd like to go back when I can enjoy it more, I think I had too much wine during the Vineyard tour. The consensus of the table was all good.

Really disappointed by the Oyster Inn. I turned up with my young daughter to try the Oyster Inn for brunch. Looked great and there were some free tables but a sign told us to wait to be taken to a table. Behind us were a couple of people (seemed to be friends of the waiters) who were warmly greeted and shown to a table and we just waited.. and waited. Perhaps as we we weren't fashionable enough to merit service. We left and won't be going back.

Enjoyed a surprise visit to the Oyster Inn this last weekend thanks to a dear friend celebrating a belated birthday.
Can't believe what they've done to the place - it really is a welcoming, warm and inviting setting with staff who obviously love what they do.
Lovely, fresh seafood classics and an exceptional wine list - Waiheke was made for a place like the Oyster Inn and I wish you all the best of luck. Well done
