Stopped in here to buy my daughter and her friend a doughnut, after I had read some good reviews about them. They had four varieties and all looked great, with the girls finally deciding on the traditional long one with jam and cream, which they loved! Pies were also tempting so we tried a steak, ale and cheese and a mince and cheese. They were very nice and reasonably priced for a homemade pie at around $6. A nice place to go if you want the traditional Kiwi classics, made well. Service was very friendly too!
A newly renovated old lunch bar, makes for a new and exciting addition to Morningside Drive.
I had heard a few rumours milling around about the Mustard Kitchen so I had to go and check it out. I absolutely loved the set up of the cafe and they had super tasty food (I went for the bacon and egg BAP), perfectly brewed Kokako coffee and smiley and friendly staff dressed in denim overalls. A great combo which is often hard to find.
Also they have just announced that they're now going to be open on Saturday's, so I know where I'll be heading this weekend to sample one of their good lookin' pies and peanut butter milkshakes.
Go and check the Mustard Kitchen out if you haven't already!
