Recent visit. I was told this was the best cafe in Onehunga, well if that is the case, then god help the others. I thought the kids area would be great, but instead I found dirty old toys, some with heads missing on the floor of the cafe. So many old books stacked so high if they had fell on my children I wouldnt have found her for a year. The outside area, has potential but at midday the slide and climbing frame were dirty and wet. Why not send a staff member out to hose them down in the morning and dry them off with a towel. easy really! The food was awful, so tasteless. Coffee average. Staff ok. Cant believe, reading previous reviews that nothing has changed for the better. Sort it out people, you have the potential to be great. Clean your toys, throw out the broken ones, get rid of the million books and clean your slides in the morning ready for your customers. And get a new chef!
Great cafe for the kiddies lots of play space etc... but thats about it.Food TERRIBLE. Nothing was seasoned, potato has was as bland as wall paper paste, mushrooms were sauted nicely... but only came with 2 tiny pieces of sourdough, and again nothing seasoned so no flavour at all!The Library Cafe is a great place if you just want a coffee and to let the kids go, but not much else. Wont be back.
Dreadful is the word that springs to mind. Went for lunch to the Library Cafe mid week the selection was very poor and what came was disappointing. Its a fabulous building, and has good parking. I certaintly wont be back.
I give The Library Cafe 3 'G's. Great ambience, great food, great service. It's very refreshing to be able to find an easy to find & easy to get to location, with heaps of parking to relax and enjoy an excellent brunch and some great coffee. I will definitely be paying them a return visit.
We had a fantastic time visiting the Library – the food was great and it was such a nice change to enjoy a peaceful (non McDonalds!)coffee while the kids played. See you again soon!
