We recently had my daughters 21st upstairs at The Franklin.
I wish to thank all the staff and Managers for their superior service, attention to detail, flexibility and awesome venue.
My daughters 21st was a great success, unfortunately we had booked The Drake 18 months before and found out accideintly The Drake had done a runner with all the advanced bookings and did not refund any of the deposits back and did not let us know, if it wasnt for The Franklin there would have not been a party.
Venue great and spacious, loved the seperated dance floor, able to move the furniture around to suit our needs. Able to bring a cake and extra food. Nothing was a problem.
Thoroughly recommend to anyone having a function.

Went to the Franklin Tap House & Eaterty on Sunday night and not being a roast fan (they do Sunday roasts) ordered from the regular menu. Tried bread and two tapas which were OK, but wanted to make special mention of the Market Fish of the Day - it was the nicest fish I've had for a long time - Schnapper with spatzle, fennel and lemon butter - a generous portion of very fresh schnapper cooked to perfection and the delicate flavour of fennel and lemon with the spatzle was the perfect accompaniment. I see they have different "things going on" on other nights during the week, so will look forward to returning!
You have to go to the Franklin , great place for a drink but a fantastic place to enjoy a really good meal , on our recent visit our group tried 6 different dishes and they were all great . My short-rib was so tender that the bone just pulled out . Very helpful and informed wait staff, and all at a very reasonable price. But mainly just go for the food .

Writing this review after me and a friend popped down to the franklin. Having only intended to head out for a quiet drink, we got lost in the warm and cosy bar, and the sofa's did nothing to help either. Bottle of wine and some tasty tapas later, I can safely say i've found a new favourite place to hang out midweek.
10/10 - Great layout, food and service. The owners have done such a great job, would recommend to anyone in this city. Perhaps this is the new place to go Auckland? I most certainly will be recommending the Franklin to everyone!!
Organised a going away party for a friend at The Franklin. A great venue and the place has been done up really well. The layout is impressive and the place is immaculate. Has a nice little out door area out the back. Highly recommended to all.
I write this review with an ear to ear smile having visited the Franklin twice this weekend for two separate occasions. The staff is as brilliant as the food, which in itself is a compliment, given the suitably generous portions mixed with great presentation. The Franklin appeals to a 'community' style crowd which seems to bring you in contact with the kind of people you want to be around. Add in the cosy and inviting atmosphere with the well balanced drinks menu and you've got a return visit from me. Thanks guys for a more than enjoyable experience...
