After viewing numerous menus we settled on The FoodStore and wow what a wonderful start to our "husband free, girls" weekend in Auckland. The staff were so helpful from start to finish, the meals we had were incredible. Lamb starter, the chicken and fish for our mains was melt in your mouth and as for dessert - awesome. Thank you FoodStore, we had a great time and will definitely be back. You guys are awesome.

I was intending to go elsewhere in the Viaduct but after walking past the foodstore this afternoon, the beautiful smells from the kitchen lured me in.
Welcomed enthusiastically by the staff and sat outside on the glorious day with my partner. The drinks menu is huge and there's a good selection of wine on offer. As a meal, the steak I had (after already smelling it earlier) was delicious.
I hadn't really thought of the Foodstore as a restaurant destination but after todays experience, will do so from here on in.
Two visits down, many more to come.
First visit was a casual weekend lunch, where we were completely surprised and wowed by the ambience of the place, enthralled watching the chefs and taken aback by the superb service, food and setting. I can honestly say best service I've ever had.
Last night saw a group of 7 of us for dinner, 5 of them non-locals and all left full, delighted and raving about the awesome atmosphere and delicious food.
Not necessarily the best place for conversation if you're sitting inside - it's too easy to get distracted watching the chefs and the TV screens which feed from cameras overlooking the kitchen, but that in itself becomes a talking point. Watching your meals get made to such a high standard in a buzzy setting is great.
So far I can recommend the roast chicken, gnocchi, steaks and others recommended the fish dishes too.
I'll be back many many times - it'll be around for awhile I'm sure!
Wow - what a fantastic experience...never quite been a part of anything like it before.
Had heard about The Foodstore (is it Julie Christies?) on another site and they were gushing - now I can see why.
Do get down to the viaduct and head to The Foodstore - well worth your while.
