This is my favourite Thai restaurant. The pad-thai is to die for! A group of 5 of us ate here recently and we all loved our different meals. My partner had a duck dish which he said was the best duck he' had.
The place itself is nicely presented and is much bigger than it looks from the outside.
There are alot of options on the menu and the service is great.

I would recommend Thai Takapuna to anyone who is after really good thai food at a very reasonable price.

This restaurant is a little like the Tardis - it looks small from the outside, but is huge when you enter! Despite the size, and the busyness on both our visits (on Sunday evenings), service is prompt and pleasant.
On our first visit, we had a voucher, and the food and service were excellent. Our second visit was on impulse, and despite our lack of a booking we were welcomed.
The entrees are fairly standard, but well seasoned and tasty.
On both our visits we had prawn dishes, and they were outstanding. We couldn't finish our mains, and they were doggy bagged for us - they were just as nice for a simple lunch the next day.
On one visit we had dessert - well, who goes to a Thai restaurant for dessert? Don't bother!
Wine was well priced and drinkable!
We will certainly return for a third visit.

problem solved...after 3 years on the shore complaining about the lack of good quality Thai Restaurants (offering takeaways) on this side of the bridge, I'm stoked to be able to say that finally we have a good 'go-to' option. Dined in tonight and had the Prawn special (there were at least 10 tiger prawns in my meal which is something you dont often see) and my partner, the Gang Mussaman. Both exception dishes, and with a few drinks we walked away having spent less than $60...all good.
Ok - the decor's not going to win it any design awards but service is friendly and another bonus, it's on the Shore!
