OK food nothing great OK ambience. Decently priced.
One of my favourite Thai Restaurants - love eating in and getting take outs from here! The curry puffs are delicious, the curries are great, pad Thai noodles are amazing, but my favourite is the beef and oyster sauce stir fry - so good!
Haven't been Thai Flame for a while since my last visit, which was rather disappointing.
Recently went for a friend's birthday and we opted for a banquet option. There's definitely more than enough to eat with the banquet option so it helps if you can eat a lot. I guess what's helpful about the banquet option is that you don't really have to think too hard about what you want to order.
The curries were better this time around with more flavour, apart from just being sweet - salty - creamy. But the Pad Thai was definitely way too over-seasoned, cloyingly sweet. I wasn't the only one who found it to be so.
A definite improvement over the last visit but still could do with a little more improvement. I still like the place for what it is, but I don't think it's the best Thai food in town.
Service was alright. Not fantastic but not bad.
Have been to Thai Flame Restaurant a number of times previously and loved the food on my previous visits. However, my most recent visit there today was rather disappointing.
The food did not carry much flavour and tasted pretty flat. Very different to what I've had previously.
Overall, the standard of cooking appears to have dropped a fair bit from my previous visits. Not sure if being there on a Sunday was the reason as the restaurant was mostly empty (the better chefs on their day off?)
I made mention of this lack lustre experience to the proprietor and asked if they'd changed chefs recently. The proprietor said that no changes to staff have been made.
I have to give it to Thai Flame Restaurant for their service. Staff were attentive and polite. The proprietor was very receptive of our comments, so I was happy with the service overall. Hopefully, the cooking will improve and return back to its standards as before.
I’ll have to give it another go in the future to see if they’ve improved.
Stuff you might find useful to know:
Venue is great for bigger functions or if you have bigger groups.
They're in the entertainment book so don't forget to bring your voucher for a discount.
There is a selection of alcoholic beverage available.
Try the flaming chicken, definitely something interesting and different.
One of my favourite restaurants, food is great. When you order duck it comes out in flames and other touches like this add to the atmosphere.
I found the atmosphere at Thai Flame Restaurant great - and the food even better. The staff were friendly and service was good. Our group left it to the Manageress to decide our choices and she was spot on. Real value for money.
