On my quest to use as many vouchers in the entertainment book as possible I stopped by the Thai Archer for dinner on Saturday night. The restaurant seems to have been converted from a house and has dining in smaller rooms, but it isn't cramped. We ordered the Pad Thai and Gang Duck. After ordering, the Duck Krapao was brought out for the table next to us and I had serious meal envy as it looked and smelt delicious, I'll definitely try that next time. Fortunately both our dishes arrived promptly and looked great too. I'm not usually a fan of fruit in savoury dishes but the Gang Duck, a red curry with grapes and pineapples, was AMAZING and I have been converted. The curry had a good amount of roast duck meat which was lovely and tender. The Pad Thai was good but only had one prawn which was disappointing but on a second read of the menu it does prawn, not prawns so they didn't lie. There was a good variety in the vegetables and amount of chicken and the sauce flavours were lovely. While the carrot and lettuce garnish was a nice touch the dish was missing crushed peanuts and a lemon wedge (although I think they had already been mixed through). Fresh rice was brought around intermittently and topped up which I liked as the rice was always hot and fresh rather than a bowl sitting on the table going cold. Overall I was very impressed with the Thai Archer and look forward to going back.
Plenty of people eating here on a Wednesday night but it wasn't too crowded. The vegetarian spring rolls were delicious, as were the mains. Quick service and they acepted an Entertainment Book voucher too.
A really lovely restaurant with superb Thai food. Have been there twice now. Perfect for a romantic dinner and although I'd go back any day because of the food, they did forget to bring our food out when we went as a family. Kids (and my mum) were a little over 'waiting so long' but the food was worth it and they're asking to go back again. Also they were really good about checking with chefs in regards to allergies.
Thai at its best. Delicious fresh ingredients. Friendly helpful staff. Relaxing environment. what more could you ask for on a Thai Friday!
We had an entree each The Thai Gari Puff Jae-Divine! The Chicken Satay..yum! and The Garlic Prawns...absolutely scrumptious with a portion of rice each... and of course a beer to go with it..Try the Thai Beer..Singha.
One of the few really Delicious Thai Restaurant's.
Everything on the menu is great! The only thing that I would say let's this restaurants down a wee bit is the intolerance for children.
But if your after a romantic dinner then forget the kids and enjoy.
Food is exceptionally yummy, service could be better, friendlier. But if your looking for somewhere nice to eat and love Thai this is the place to visit.
As a regular diner at Thai Archer, I can only say positive things about the restaurant. The food is extremely good and most importantly, is very consistent - I have never been disappointed by a meal there. The staff are always polite and friendly, and the menu offers really good value for money. The restaurant itself is very unassuming and great for a casual meal. Highly recommended!
