I've been to Taqueria several times and always feel that they skimp on some things. They carefully measure each strand of lettuce (how much does lettuce cost?) The salsa is good but the meat is bland. I don't agree with the other reviews that say you can get a great meal for under $10 unless you have 2 very small tacos.
Friendly people, great food at Taqueria -- fresh, healthy and under 10 bucks. What else does Ponsonby Road need?
I'm stoked ... Taqueria covers all the bases. It's fast, it's tasty, the place feels good ... staff are friendly and where else can you pay less than 10 bucks and be full? Try a burrito here - I've eaten there four times now... viva la Mexico.
I ate at Taqueria today for the third time, and it was very tasty and most generously-sized. Tried the beef burrito - outstanding. I will definitely be going back.
I'm gonna go with the above review and say the meat is very bland at Taqueria. They could do with kicking it up a notch and adding a bit more spice. In saying that, the salsas are pretty nice and have heaps of flavour. I was a bit disapointed that the crispy taco shells are Old ElPaso brand. Don't you think they could do make their own?
And while I'm at it, go for the soft corn tacos - they are way better. Never in two months travelling through Mexico did I even come across a hard shell taco.
