Jam Organic Cafe is all you'd want in a local Takapuna cafe and then some more - great food, lots of arty and foodie books to peruse and all-round fantastic food. Which savvy Auckland local wouldn't have heard of Takapuna's little gem, Little & Friday? This pie-making and lamington-baking extraordinaire is well-loved by Takapuna AND North Shore locals, and despite having doubled in popularity especially after opening a second branch in Newmarket, this humble little dwelling in Takapuna continues to keep service and food quality top-notch - there probably isn't a cafe in Takapuna that is more deserving of our sentimental love! (Cafe, New Zealand)Mint Takapuna Cafe & Restaurant may straddle the line between being cafe and restaurant, but we're going to classify it as a Takapuna cafe simply because we're bigger fans of the cafe than the restaurant, besides also having heard mixed reviews about Mint Takapuna's dinner service. Takapuna Beach Cafe & Store takes it to a whole new level with the Takapuna Beach Store - the shop section does takeaways, pre-prepared gourmet food-to-go and what some claim to be the best gelato in Auckland, too. If this doesn't earn Takapuna Beach Cafe status as one of the best Takapuna Cafes, we don't know what will. Toasted EspressoSure, Auckland is known as one of the best coffee districts in the world, but plenty of these specialist coffee places are based in Auckland Central. Luckily for those of us here on the Shore, there is the Toasted Espresso HQ. Being the on-site roaster for this widely loved and savoured coffee brand and spupplier for what may possibly be the best coffee in Takapuna, Toasted Espresso Takapuna with its laid back and welcoming interior will make a great cafe hangout for both casual meets and the odd business meeting or two.
