I'm glad St Tropez restaurant decided to do Groupon! It was our first time in this restaurant for my husband and I and what a beautiful experience!
Even if we couldn't choose our table (which is not surprising in a fully booked french restaurant on Parnell on Saturday night!)
The service was lovely and the food was excellent! I was not expecting so much food with a voucher,
We were full and happy when we left, We are definitely looking forward to go back to St Tropez and try the usual menu which looks delicious :-)
Low quality food and service upon the release of a voucher. I've been going to St. Tropez for almost 5 years and have really enjoyed my experience there (high standard with good food, service and ambiance) until I have used their Groupon voucher, which I was treated as a second class citizen, served with a separate voucher menu with food similar to that of a low standard family diners. It was a bad idea to have a low quality menu for the voucher as the voucher is supposed to promote the restaurant, not to demote it. It felt as if St. Tropez was using their high reputation to scam on vouchers.
Been to St Tropez Restaurant twice and wasn't let down. Awesome and quick service, food was awesome, was always checked on and the desert just exploded in my mouth. Had a lovely date with husband. Just one thing. When we were offered water, sparkling or flat, we don't remember being told it was charged. So that was a bit of a point to check next time. Otherwise, totally recommend St Tropez.
I'm astonished this is one of your recommended French restaurants in Auckland as it was the scene of my worst dining experience ever. They mixed up our order so that my wife's well done steak had my sauce and my rare steak had hers. We alerted the staff who took the plates away, and within two minutes brought the plates back having washed the steaks down and corrected the error - we knew they had as my wife had cut into her steak. When the staff and then manager were told we were told that under no circumstance do they do that, and when I pointed out the proof, she said nothing, took the plates to the kitchen and 20 mins later our new fresh steaks appeared. By this time our guests had finished. At payment time we asked for something off the bill and the manager refused to even offer a free glass of wine - extremely poor service! Definitely NOT recommended!
A very disappointing evening , especially given the reputation of this restaurant. The food was average and the wine waiter lost half a bottle of champagne by opening the warmer of two bottles first. The excuse given was that he was inexperienced, but at $25 corkage surely we deserve better service. We were offered a grudging $15 dollars refund after a fairly acrimonious reception of our complaint. Definitely not an experience we wish to repeat.
Our Family had a birthday dinner at St Tropez Restaurant recently and were so impressed with the great food, super friendly and experienced staff. Our two Grandies are learning dining
skills and tried the escargot, brushed up their French and insisted in thanking the Chefs for their fine cooking and had a lovely photo taken with Claire, our very charming waitress. We discovered that fine dining is alive and well in Auckland and at an affordable price too.
