Almost a year ago we were married next to the lake at St Margaret’s Garden under the big willow tree surrounded by flowering Cherry trees and spring flowers, followed by an afternoon reception in the rustic cafe.. I cannot rate them highly enough, Maree is fantastic, really down to earth and so accommodating with the menu.

We’re heading back next weekend for our 1 year anniversary.

It is a little small esp if it is raining, so book if you have a lot of people.. common sense

Thanks

We were really disappointed with St Margarets. The setting is beautiful but it doesn't make up for the poor service and food. At first we felt invisible after it took 15 minutes for a menu to arrive. We ordered bread and dips to share - the servings were small and the garlic bread burnt. The mains took forever to arrive and all were shoddy - over cooked fish, dry chicken and tasteless smoked duck. The staff never once asked if we'd enjoyed the meal, but I guess that's because they didn't want to hear our answer.

A lovely location but what a shame about the staff. We arrived after golf at Pukekohe at 11.10am all we wanted was a coffee and a muffin but were treated like 'lepers.' They were setting up for lunch and were extremely rude and made it very obvious that they would rather we were not even there. I will definitely not be returning and further more,I will be warning our friends, 'would be customers,' of our experience. Very disappointing indeed

that really is a shame you felt poorly treated, as Ive never had any concern there, and Im a regular diner. Did you get in touch with the owner? She always appreciates feedback, good or otherwise. - Report

A lovely country cafe well worth the drive especially on a sunny day. The food was very good and well presented and the coffee too was good. I feel that the setting is half of this cafes appeal. Highly recommended and will no doubt be back soon

All I can say that the venue was delightful and the food was fantastic. It arrived all together - I was part of a group of 12. The food tasted great and was hot. The dessert was divine. I had the steak and the cheescake and I would definately recommend this place to family friends and work colleagues.
