Fantastic food, huge portions for a really reasonable price. Will definitely be back, K Rd's best Indian food!

Once you go to Satya - everything else pales into comparision. The food is light and tasty and much different to other regional food of India. The Masala Dosa is one of my faves - but we usually order a number of our faves so we dont miss out!

In fact I am off there again tonight - do yourself a favour get along there ASAP. Its cheap and delicious!

I love the food at Satya and I agree with the other reviews that it is possibly the best indian food I have tasted in Auckland. However, every time I try to eat there I get extremely frustrated at the standard of service by the staff there. Twice in the last few months I have phoned the previous evening and booked a table, then when we arrive our booking was not recorded and have to argue to get seated (at 7 in the evening when the restaurant at this time is almost empty).

The first time it happened they asked us which of their two Satya restaurants we made the reservation for, so the second time I made sure I had the right number (which was the same as before) and I specifically asked the person on the other end of the line if I were through to the K'road venue. Yet somehow when we arrive the next evening the restaurant is fully booked and we have the same argument.
If the food wasn't so excellent I would never return however I have never been disappointed by the food. If the service was better I would be eating there on a very regular basis however at the moment its about every 6 months (just enough time for me to get over my frustration of the previous debacle!)

Ignore the shabby decor and inconvenient location on K'Road, Satya South Indian Cafe serves possibly the best South Indian food in town. And if you ask for extra hot, that's exactly what you get.
