Had dinner last night at Ragu with a group of friends and by and large, had a great experience. My partner and I had dined at Ragu before but the other four hadn't heard of this Pt Chev restaurant but took our word for it.
We shared starters - pork belly, calamari, koftas, bruschetta and some fritters - the koftas were particularly good.
For a man, I had the Moran lamb stew - a little disappointed in my selection when I caught a glimpse (and tasted) the chicken pie.
Ragu is good value and the staff nice and friendly - good to see an eatery of this calibre do well in Pt Chev.
We were searching for a restaurant that serves good quality food, provides friendly & professional service and caters for young children... there aren't many around and Ragu is now at the top of that list for us! Food was very delicious - posh yet comforting at the same time (and not expensive either). Service was superb and the staff were very baby friendly (there's a toy room there too - a big bonus). The ambiance was elegant, warm and inviting... Thanks for an awesome night, we'll definitely be back!
Just had an exceptional dining experience at Ragu last night - who would have thought modern, contemporary (and well priced) food can be found in suburban Pt Chev.
We treated our family over from the States to a meal a Ragu - and to a man, we were all duly impressed. Highlights of the Tapas menu were the Risotto balls, Squid and the Merguez sausages and portions were pretty good really.
We will no doubt be visiting Ragu again soon - oh, and the staff and general ambiance are excellent.
Although in it's early days, I'd heard some great things about Ragu in Pt Chev from a few friends who live in nearby Westmere.
They were really excited to have another Tapas restaurant nearby (Adelie in Garnet Road is also a favourite) and after my visit to Ragu last night, I can see why.
The fit-out is good and the staff are obviously making a concerted effort to ensure the first impressions are indeed good ones.
Between us, my partner and I had the Chilli Prawns, tart tartin, meat balls and bruschetta and our bill (with a few drinks) came to less than $90 - pretty good these days dont you think.
It seems Ragu lived up to the hype - let's hope it stays that way!
