I was disappointed in my visit to Queenies Lunchroom. I had the venison pie with salad. The pie was Luke warm and the pastry soggy. The salad has to much dressing on it. A bit expensive for what you got. The coffee was good but a little strong
Cute little place, great coffee, loved the decor and the food, tad pricey I thought for the portions, but that wouldn't stop me going again, the lemon pikelets with butterscotch sauce a nice change from french toast :)
After hearing so much about Queenies Lunchroom recently we finally had the chance to go there on Saturday. Had trouble finding it at first, but it seems no-one else had the same problem as it was pretty packed.
We didn't have to wait too long, but the wait gave us a good chance to get amongst their magazines - one of the better selections I've come across in Auckland.
It's a quirky, smallish place, with the antler chandelier and retro set-up, definitely attracting the hip Ponsonby crowd.
Great supreme coffee, but the highlight was the pikelets with lemon curd and the tamarillo tart that my partner and I shared.
Queenies is well worth seeking out if you want to try something new - I've got no doubt that you'll be impressed!
My favourite cafe in the whole of Auckland. Staff are the best and it's got a really cool buzz about it.
And the food.... don't get me started - it's nearly lunch time!
