I also wish to mention that throughout the time we were there, every now and then my son would turn around and look at the staff at the counter. I can sense that my son felt uncomfortable and unhappy; this made me sad.
Before the staff scared my son and shocked us all, we were planning to spend more money and have some sweet treats. At the end we left the cafe as soon as we finiished our lunch.
To sum up, not only will we NEVER go back there again, I will also tell people I know not to try it.
A group of 4 of us, covering 3 generations, went to the Q Licensed cafe in October as I bought a Yazoom voucher to try out this place. Our experience can be summarised in the following points:1. We walked in, and us 3 adults were reading the menu blackboard against the wall. At one stage my young son walked up to the blackboard. Suddenly I heard the cafe owner Ravee Patel and 1 or 2 other staff yelling "hey!" and "excuse me!" in loud voice at my son. I checked the blackboard and didn't see any wording being rubbed/wiped off; instead, my son my parents and I were rather shocked by how the staff handled the situation. At the time I had a strong urge to take our group and leave the cafe; the only reason we stayed was because I wasn't going to purchase a food voucher and not use it!2. A brown woman walked up with two drinks to where we sat. As we were all sitting facing the window looking out, as soon as I heard her calling out the drink names I got off my stool to turn around and talk to her. As I was pointing my hand to one of my parent, saying to that woman "flat white over there please...", she PUT THE DRINKS DOWN ON THE TABLE BEHIND US AND WALKED OFF! My parents turned around, took a look at the drinks, both shook their heads, and we all looked at each other in disbelief! We have never come across this kind of service in any other place we have dined out at. Few minutes later I decided that I would raise this issue with Ravee at the counter. I explained what happened to him, and his reply was "...I was here watching; and I saw that there was no movement from your group." Our whole family are faithful Catholics and at that moment it was comforting to know that at least God knows I was telling the truth.3. I don't know how my dad liked his coffee but the hot chocolate was bit tasteless. Food at Q Licensed cafe was average; not as bad as how my son was treated or the services we received.
I had the corn fritter $10 lunch special at Q Licensed Cafe. Somewhere under the mountain of salsa and sour cream there was a fritter about the size of 50c piece. When something is a $10 special, I was expecting it to be a special price for the normal serving of that dish, not a cut down version of the dish. Must admit that when I re-read the board after the meal, it did say corn fritter, not fritters, but I have never received just one fritter in any cafe before. Still hungry.
Went there this morning for breakfast with a group of friends. All the meals and supposedly hot drinks were cold.
Staff were very pleasant but not enough on for a cafe with this much seating. We were the first customers to arrive for breakfast and were there at 7am. Other tables of diners arriving after us received there meals before us. Shame we had to pay first or we wouldn't of stayed. After waiting forty five minutes one of our group had to leave to go to work hungry.
Very disappointed with my experience here. I went for lunch with a friend. Our meals were very average. Mine was served on a chipped plate. Our meals didnt seem fresh and both of our wine glasses were dirty. Service was about as expected and the cafe's environment was nice. I wouldnt go back and if I'd paid more than the special $10 lunch, I would have been extremely disappointed.
