We recently dined at Pastis for a business lunch. We were greeted with smiles and taken to our table which was unfortunately in the middle of the restaurant so was very exposed and noisy. The waiting staff were French and very friendly, however we did struggle to hear the specials. Two of us opted for the salmon special which was served in a savoury crepe. The salmon was smoked and the dish was accompanied by a rich sauce which overall I found tasty, but too rich for my taste. Others at the table had the egg, cheese and sausage crepe which was apparently good as was the steak and frites. We shared a decent bottle of Bouteille which was very good. Overall I was satisfied with Pastis but it didn't have the wow factor.
Food at Pastis OK waiter fine but the Manager is so arrogant he turns a mild complaint into a debate as if he has a battle to win! We definitely won't be returning to Pastis for Round 2 and advise if you can't abide arrogance stay away.
It's very poor service at Pastis restaurant, I tried to make the booking for lunch and the waitress that answered the phone had put me on hold for more than 10 mins and didn't even come back to the phone!! I called again and its the same waitress and didn't apologise when I told her that it was rude of her to put me on hold for longer than 10 mins and her excuse was we're very busy and then she just hung up on me!! Not recommended anyone to go to Pastis restaurant at all and not impress with their staff.
Went with 4 friends one of whom has owned several international restaurants and is currently setting up a new "dining experience" in New York. The restaurant was not aware of our friends background and we didn't tell them... He had a fabulous time annd so did we. The food was delicious and the service great. :)
Not a very pleasant experience.
My man and I went there to celebrate our anniversary hoping for a quiet, romantic dinner. However, the tables too close together for comfort, the place was crowded and way too noisy (like being at a busy pub) and the waiter was on the arrogant side.
The food was good though, but not enough to make us come back.
For a French guy, going to a French restaurant abroad is always very funny: yo always eat or drink dishes you have never ever heard of, and that look nothing like French cuisine...
But Pastis is completely different! It is France! It looks French, smells French, people speak French...
It's nice to be home!

We love Pastis. The service is excellent and the food is just great. We had the escargot for entree which was perfect and the waiter saw that we still had gravy left so he brought us more bread. Our mains were stunning too. Love the atmosphere and the wait staff were all French too!
We were too full for dessert but have vowed to go back again!
