I've been to PappaRich a couple of times for lunch and the food has always been good. Its reasonably priced Malaysian food with highlights being the Roti Chenai and the steamed chicken with rice is good too. Downside is it is not licenced but they have a wide variety of unusual non alcoholic drinks. I went there for dinner last week and was disappointed. The chicken dish was not the best and service rushed shame as its usually good.

Papparich makes for a really good destination if you're after a central city bite and you've got time against you! The food is really well priced, quick and, surprisingly, some decent sized portions. By and large it's all Malaysian cuisine and the staples are well represented. The Nasi Lemak is fantastic and I can thoroughly recommend it. There's a few drawbacks; the first being simply because of the speed of the whole process (food is ordered and delivered with little fuss), you're unlikely to hang around and make an experience of it and 2, there's no alcohol on the menu but those are only small gripes. Cheap, central and family friendly - PappaRich is worth checking out if you're near Aotea centre.

Located right at the heart of the city. This Malaysian food place is a hidden gem inside the metro city building. Food is great, and service is good. I had the egg noodles on prawn soup and steamed chicken which were delicious. The chicken was soft and succulent accompanied by a lovely sauce. I enjoyed my food an the whole experience.

The newest Malaysian to come down under is PappaRich. A heavy black folder yields a huge compendium of options, page after page of traditional Malaysian dishes. Glossy photos of most dishes take the guesswork out of ordering.

You write down your own order on the notepad provided which reminds me of being in a Bingo game. Press the green button to summon the staff and a uniformly dressed waiter will run over to retrieve your order. The service was not so quick considering we got there before the lunch masses.

The curries come on a metal tray resembling something from in a prison but the contents were great. I could have done with a little more chicken for $14, I got 3 small pieces only. There's some impressive flakiness going on with the Roti, the billowy light pastry perfect for soaking up any sauce. The chutney had some almighty kick.

It's next to my work so I'll be back.

We recently dined at Pappa Rich after hearing about this from my brother in Australia. Apparently the franchise is very popular in OZ. Easy place to find just at the top of the IMAX complex on Queen Street. We ordered the Fried Chicken and Rice and my hubby has the Mee Goreng noodles. Both meals were tasty and decent size. I especially liked the flavoured rice. The staff was outstanding in their service and it was certainly very busy...late dinner for us after a movie.. It was close to 9pm and the place was packed. All in all a good place to dine
