Between two we got the chicken waffle, fish po boy, fried chicken and curly fries.

This was my third time having the chicken waffle and although I thought it was exciting the first time I had it, the novelty has now worn off. I still recommend those who haven't tried it to definitely give this a go!

If you're after fried chicken, I suggest you go straight for the fried chicken dish (without the waffle). The chicken is crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. The ranch dressing is delicious too!

The fish po boy was a decent size, and while the fish was tender, the dish lacked a bit of flavour overall, especially when there was a lot more bun than filling.

I really enjoy Orleans' curly fries. They are curly and crunchy and you a get a decent bowlful!

Overall we were definitely full, had an enjoyable time and service was great.

Ps. On Wednesdays 12-4 the chicken waffles are half price so get amongst it if you haven't tried it!

There are lots of reasons to love Orleans - the cool decor, great music - but this review is for my favourite snack on their menu: The sweet corn! At $8 it's a bargain and it tastes like sweet buttery amazingness. Get in there.

Went to Orleans with a large group of about 15 pax. They took care of as we nominated the manager to order on behalf of us. They kept bringing the dishes - a couple of everything really and the food was delicious.. we were suitably full after scoffing it back! Really cool atmosphere with a live jazz singer. Recommend for a group or even will go back with the hubby for a quieter occasion.

Going during the summer meant I managed to escape the usual crowd and queue that characterises Orleans most of the time. Having been to actual New Orleans I found the menu reasonably authentic, sitting towards the higher end of the scale in terms of quality - definitely no gigantic portion sizes here. We had a mix of ribs, po boys, chicken and waffle and a few sides - food was very quick, flavourful and memorable. There's enough options to avoid exhausting the menu in a few trips and there's live music on most nights for great ambience. Really thrilled to have some southern style cuisine in the city.

You can see why everyone's raving about the Britomart area - from what we've experienced on this trip so many great eateries in a small space means that if one's full then you just stroll on by to the next, equally good, offering.
Haven't been to New Orleans but with the decor, 'authentic' staff and food can imagine Orleans - Britomart is a fairly good representation.
Couldn't go past the chicken waffle (although portions were on the smaller side), and the jambalaya sausage balls...awesome!

Orleans is a great middle of the range restaurant with all the bells and whistles you'd expect from a New Orleans hangout. It really feels like you're part of the woodwork when you arrive. Although it's popular and you no doubt will have to wait, it's worth it. Try the delicious chicken waffles (an absolute favourite) or the gumbo and kick back and listen to some jazz, the way it should be played. Best to go midweek as this joint will be brimming for a while as the newbies come in and try the delights.
