We went to Tony's last Friday night. Service was outstanding our waitress was attentive and prompt with food and drinks. Menu is comprehensive and with the best Buffalo Wings in Auckland.
Steaks were superb as expected. Will definitively be back again and bring some friends to enjoy with!
service? fine...no problem
Food? Big big problem
Scallops....crumbed scallops from Gilmours freezer.
Prawns...same
Scotch fillet only got a half size one...asked for rare got well-done and burnt on outside.
Spaghetti bolognaise...totally bland...no seasoning
Its ok to have retro 1970s style restaurant but lets at least get the food fresh and up to todays standards of preparation

Had THE worst experience in this highly recommended restaurant. The steak was absolutely "perfect". As Tony's well known ability to make every meal a special one, they sure did a pretty good job in ruining my birthday dinner tonight.I decided to try something out of the ordinary since it was my birthday so, Carpet Bag Steak it was. But what is Carpet Bag Steak without oysters, right? So, my compliments to the chef/ kitchen prep who managed to leave pieces of oyster shell in my steak!!Special experience indeed. I didn't even stay for the cake my partner had arranged for me. We just left. Outrageous!!!

nice to see an original restaurant
Went to the Original Tony's restaurant last week and we had some great scotch fillet steaks and a lamb dish. Perfectly cooked and very filling. When we mentioned that we were needing to get to the Stones Movie at a certain time they made sure we were served promptly. The service was friendly and helpful.
Found Original Tony's Restaurant warm, cosy food was tasty, only downfall the staff not quite up top par. While our order was wrong and drinks didn't arrive we were offered a free meal but only if they could find the voucher!!! Their still looking.
