Beautiful atmosphere, tasty and interesting food, amazing toilets! Perfect place for an intimate date or as a group. Highly recommended for the experience.
This is an absolutely gorgeous, intimate and cosy place once you get through the somewhat tacky and worn entrance way. (it's a bit of a haven away from the Imax / cinema complex)
The interior is stunning and I can't understand why it's not more popular.
Good food (we ordered off the tapas menu) & tasty cocktails. The service was a bit slow (considering we were one of only a few groups in there,) but attentive, professional and pleasant.
Will definitely be back there for my pre-theatre drinks!
As far as I could tell, opium wasn't actually on the menu at Opium, but dining here was nevertheless an exotic and intoxicating experience. The setting is just gorgeous. Tiered levels of private dining booths, fabulous fabrics, coloured lanterns, sculptures and fascinating objects galore create an oriental-themed, luxurious ambience.
And then there's the food. We shared scallop dumplings with dipping sauce and whole snapper with five-spice syrup dribbled over it, served with long green beans and doused in coconut-infused flavours. Ultra delicious. With jasmine rice and bok choy, one entrée and one main was enough for the two of us so, although the prices are up there, the total bill wasn't extreme (despite the rather expensive wine).
The service was absolutely top notch, too. Careful and caring, the team made an effort with detail and succeeded, without intrusion. Very nice. I'll be back - with girlfriends who get excited about interior design, with fans of opulent finery and with friends seeking taste sensations.
