What has happened to Okra. This place used to be fabulous. In the last two visits the creamy chorizo has gone down hill and the coffee has been bitter. All this after waiting over an hour for food.

Okra is THE place to go for your sunday morning hangover breakfast. Their eggs benedict is amongst the best in the city, their spicy hash cakes are a phenomenal taste sensation and their creamed mushrooms...words cannot describe, you have to try it for yourself.

I can't vouch for the rest of the food, but their breakfasts are magnificient.

I've been to Okra several times and i love the place. I find their food outstanding, especially for the price. I recommend the warm chicken salad. The service has usually been good, only complaint would be not being attended to fast enough and on more than one ocassion having to remind them to bring us water. Okra Espresso Lounge a cosy place and i'll keep going back!

Okra has got friendly staff and a good vibe. The space inside is a bit of a tight squeeze, the tables outside are a lot better. The food is OK, and the coffee pretty good. If you like a down to earth cafe that is a bit run-down looking, but relaxed then Okra is the place for you.

On Saturday I walked in to Okra, buoyed by friends recommendations of really friendly staff. I was hugely let down. After a 40 minute wait (we were upstairs so thought someone might have forgotten us) I went to the waitress to ask (nicely) if someone could take our orders as we were ready to order. On coming up to us, I asked the waitress which of 2 meals she would recommend. Her response? "Geez and you were the one who came downstairs and was kicking our arses to hurry up, and you can't even make up your mind." And if this rudeness wasn't enough she later gave me my meal, saying "oh yeah this is for the indecisive girl." The food was quite good. But I am afraid the service put a complete dampner on any taste of the food. I would not recommend Okra to anyone, at least until the English waitress with the bad attitude disappears.
