Great laid back pub down at Britomart. Good macs beers on tap, perfect for a drink before a gig at vector!
Went at the start of a night out with mates the other day, food was really nice and wasn't the usual bar food. Worth a visit just for the decor and the lovely staff were So good we stayed all night, girls were great and the guys behind the bar really knew there stuff. Had a right laugh.
We had a group dinner at the Northern Steamship recently. The staff were great but we did find the food very average.
The Toasted reuben was described by my friend as a bad sandwich that you would make yourself after a drunken night out - bit overpriced at $18. The Northern Steamship Caesar salad was also disappointing.
Went to the Northern Steamship for a quick lunch, ended up staying for a lot longer. The food is great I recommend eating there if one does get the chance, I had Groper fish on a nicoise style salad, delicious. This is a great place for a drink, the staff are friendly, although it does tend to get quite busy. I love the decor of the Northern Steamship, its quirky and fun.
caught the all blacks fiji game at northern steamship and thought it was great. average age of punters was 30+ im picking but good times. the jug prices were pretty good to - didnt make shouting a round too bad at all! You don't hear much about the northern steamship now that tyler st garage, bcc and other in the britomart area have come up, but still well worth a visit.
Northern Steamship is a fantastically relaxed pub - staff are bloody good and you can't fault Mac's beer obviously. Only wished they'd hurry up and open one in the North Shore....preferably near Devonport!!!!
Went to Northern Steamship Co BrewBar & Restaurant for lunch and after getting over the unusual tapas served in icecream cones, found the food to be very delicious. Great bar, love the beer selection and good for in the day or at night.
The Northern Steamship Company is a fantastic new place to go that is in great walking distance from all the other Viaduct bars. With a group of around 15 of us meeting there after work, it was perfect! With the large wooden tables and relaxed atmosphere, who could ask for anything more? The staff were especially friendly making it definitely my favourite new bar!
