Popped into Cafe Mozaik for some lunch on Anzac Day and here are my thoughts...Great location - as beachfront as you can get in Orewa.Nice decor - cool things to look at and keep you occupiedGood selection of seating - inside & out, including bench seats (LOVE bench seating!)Selection of newspapers / mags - always a winner for a cafe for meGreat drinks - ordering iced coffee is always a risk in my experience, but there's was spot on. The iced mocha was AMAZING!Good food - homemade burger and chips was good, chips were well cooked and burger was tasty. Roast vege and pesto pasta salad was delish - topped with a side order of smoked salmon (generous serving), it was a scrummy, healthy lunchGood service - there seemed to be too many staff on which meant they were extra-attentive! I'm not complaining at all!Fast service - the food came out in a very reasonable time, which is always a positive thing!Menu selection / variety was average - a good selection but really just for sit-down big brunch/lunch meals with one or two smaller options in the display cabinet. I would have liked to have had a few more options for 'smaller' lunch meals.Price - because of the type of menu (ie. as above, big sit-down brunch/lunch meals) it does mean that eating here can get pricey. And whilst I expect and understand a surcharge on public holidays, it did mean that lunch and one drink for two was over $50 which is rather pricey for lunch in my eyes! Cake - a special mention to the cake display here. Whilst I refrained from actually enjoying a slice, the cakes looked amazing, appetizing and just delicious so I'm thinking that a return visit just for coffee and cake is well worth it!Overall, I'd go back if I was looking for a sit-down lunch, or if I wanted afternoon tea (cake, yummy!), but probably not if I was looking for a light lunch, just because of the lack of options on the menu.
