Walked into Monterey Lounge after browsing the shops in Richmond Road and was pleasantly surprised by the excellent service and food we received. The woman behind the counter was very friendly and as she knew Mum and I were sharing a sandwich she cut it in half and put it on two plates without us asking - love that! The sandwich has a delicious, moist tuna filling and was followed by a cute and yummy butterfly cupcake. Coffee was great (quite strong). I would definitely go back and perhaps after sampling a few more things on the menu would give it that fifth star!

I love Monterey. I just had to leave a review, because it is such a great cafe. We stumbled across it when visiting the book shop, next door. The coffee is fantastic, the interior funky, staff cool and food great. The eggs (done anyway) are great - you can really taste organic eggs - yum. The cakes are devine...............I really can't fault Monterey - it's a fantastic local and it rocks!!

Nice and laid back, good coffee, cool decor and friendly staff. The 'Decadent Dutch Baby' is great...recommended
