Metro's 2008 Best Chawarma
Seriously Delicious and so affordable.
Great if your out in town and need a quick bite to eat. The
Chawarma's are seriously the best I've ever come across, lamb is tender and sauces are delicious.
The only complaint I have is that it's not open during lunch times Saturday and Sundays - I wish it was… it's the best!
This place has been around forever (over 20 yrs I think) and it still serves up a great shawama.
Their menu is simple, but what they do, they do well. Their famous shawama is made of just diced spit-roast lamb and lettuce in a bread bun. You are left to add your own tomato relish and yoghurt sauce which is always so delicious!
The falafel is great too: falafel patties in a pita pocket with tabouleh and huumus.
Service is quick, just order at the counter and pay before you leave.
A great quick, pre-movie meal.
Hungry people may need 2 shawamas, but one is definitely enough for me.
Shawama or falafel $8.50
The best value for middle eastern food that can be found in the city.
The Chawarma’s are truly mouthwatering and what value for your money!
Definitely pop in for a visit. Warm friendly staff will greet you. My only complaint is that they should be open more hours during the day!
This place has got to be the most consistant restaurant I have been to in the 30 years I've lived in Auckland. Absolutely love the food and the ambiance. Always a new camel on show.
Oh my goodness - Im telling everyone! My husband brought me a chawarmar last night and I fell in love again. Totally worth a trip into town just for one. The bread - gorgeous, lamb extremely tastly & tender. Just Beautiful at Middle East Cafe.
