Came here for a light lunch and enjoyed the food. I had the slow roasted tomatoes with bread and hummus. Was delicious but if you have a big appetite you will need to order something else. My friend had the lentil soup which she said was very nice and she'd had it before. My other friend grabbed a toasted chicken sandwich from the counter and it looked really delicious. Food was a tad slow but service friendly.
Love the food is so fresh, is not too pricey and has a great atmosphere .
The staff is very friendly. We went there and was very busy, even then the staff was friendly, quick, and food always arrive in time!
Love the tapas! great beer food!
I recommend Mezze Bar
Came here especially for breakfast after careful selection and reading reviews. instantly loved the atmosphere. Arrive before the 12pm deadline and ordered eggs. Was told that the kitchen would not cook the eggs, even though we had ordered just before midday. Was very disappointed. The nice staff were also visibly upset for us. Clearly a case of false advertising and very bad form from the kitchen - how hard is it to poach an egg? Wont be going to Mezze Bar again!
Mezze Bar is one of the few places in the city where you can chill out later in the night.
I haven't eaten here in a while but I've been here for dessert and drinks.
Definitely recommend the chocolate buttermilk cake.. yum! Their carrot cake's also pretty good. Their drinks are okay, but their ice chocolate is not the best.
Mezze offers a comfortable and cosy environment. Staff are alright. You get minimal interaction since you order and pay at the till. So, can't comment too much. But generally okay.
The Mezze Bar off Auckland’s Hight Street is a spot which continuously impresses. In winter its couches and candles are a welcome retreat from the wind and rain and in summer the windows are thrown open and you can dine amongst the breeze and abundant plants. Casual enough to pop in for a drink after work but the extensive menu will also satisfy you if you’re looking for a full meal. Wide range of Turkish food, the tomato lentil soup is a popular and cheap favourite.
The Mezze Bar is a funky, happening cafe in the heart of Auckland city. A superb place to go for a drink and tapa's if not a meal. Their menu is extensive offering a wide range of meals with a beverage menu to match!
Mezze can be hired out for private functions and because of its size and location is a perfect choice.
I can’t say enough good things about Mezze Bar. The food is fresh, flavourful and reasonably priced and the atmosphere is relaxed and yet stylish.
I’ve always been treated well by the staff at Mezze Bar even though they are frequently very busy and rushed off their feet. The food always arrives in good time. Lots of small ‘tapas’ style meals as well as more substantial fare.
The décor is relaxed with a mixture of couches and tables, plants and lots of candles. There are windows most of the way around the restaurant which is pleasant night or day.
Very convenient location also, great to meet at before a movie.
What a fantastic Mezze bar! There is little choice downtown if you're not after Asian cuisine but thankfully we stumbled across Mezze Bar last night.
Great setting and service - even though it was half full there was a definite buzz and vibrancy on this Saturday night.
I had the Morroccan Meatballs on rice pilaf and a green salad (the best salad dressing I've ever come across) and my partner had the roast chicken breast with citrus dressing - absolutely divine!
Mezze Bar is well and truly worth a visit - it did not let us down!
Mezze Bar is an awesome little restaurant. The food is superb with an ambience to boot! Highly recommended.
If you want an informal place to catch up with a friend for lunch, then head to Mezze Bar (up the escalator in Whitcoulls, then turn left into a hidden little shopping strip and you're there). This place never fails to deliver. Don't expect flashy food here, but do expect very quick service (perfect when you have limited time during a lunch break), great soups, BLATs with a yummy mayo, tapas. Loving that retro interior (... I want that groovy room divider with the lampshades for my place!!)
