Metro Top 50 Auckland Cafes 2012

Metro Top 50 Auckland Cafes 2012

Metro Magazine's Top 50 Auckland Cafes have been announced for 2012 with a fair few surprises in the mix. Streuth, one of the top 50 doesn't even serve coffee for heaven's sake!

Whether you agree with the short list or not, one thing is for sure; Auckland's cafe culture is alive and kicking and Aucklanders are super-spoilt for choice.

So what's Metro's pick for the best of the best you ask? 2012's Supreme title went to Takapuna Beach Cafe, which also got the gong for best menu.

There will be little surprise with the winner of the 'best baking' accolade, for, if user reviews are anything to go by, Belmont's Little & Friday is the people's choice.

Auckland can now claim to being New Zealand's true cafe capital so take our advice, grab the latest Metro, call down your dining companions and explore Auckland's cafe culture one Metro Top 50 Cafe at a time ... in 12 months time you may be a bit lighter in the pocket and heavier on the scales but at least you'll have fun in the process.
