had a business meeting in The Sebel and came for a pre ordered lunch. The plate of food we were served was diabolical, how on earth a chef, head waiter and manager let this leave the kitchen was beyond me. The food was of unbelievably poor quality and presentation and apparently expensive.
I was embarrased to be from Auckland as we had speakers from the UK & Australia and delegates from all over NZattending this meeting and this was what was on offer. They should be ashamed of themselves.
No star rating whatsoever from me
Popped into Mecca in the Viaduct for a quick spot of lunch and found the Italian cusine on offer well presented, the service was efficient and the general ambiance was pleasant. Nothing exceptional but certainly not run of the mill. Definitely recommended if you're out and about in the Viaduct.
Mecca in the Viaduct Basin is an excellent restaurant in a great location.
About 10 of us rocked up there on a Saturday night—somewhat raucous and less than sober—and they had no hesitation serving us.
I had the chicken Marsala, which was very nice (even though my tastebuds were probably numb by that stage of the night) and the steak was apparently very good as well.
Would definitely recommend Mecca Viaduct Basin for its accommodating, cheerful staff and great food!
Great place for a quick breakfast. The service was quick, the menu varied and the view fantastic.
