I ordered a Chicken Burrito which states on Lucha Lounge's online menu comes with rice but when i got there it did't come with rice only a Chicken Burrito im not sure why? anyhow the Chicken Burrito was good,though i perfer my Mexican food Hot i assume the food was gonna have atleast some fire to it but was very mild,that wasn't enough so i ordered some corn chips with salsa,salsa was yummy but again the corn chips were mild.I really liked the lay-out of Lucha Lounge,very retro a cool little hang out would i dine here again,yep but i will ask next time for my dishes to be Hot not Mild.
Lucha is fantastic. Great cocktails, yummy Mexican food and a great atmosphere. I love their fireplace and the comfortable couch - I could spend my whole night there. They also have perhaps the best playlist of any Bar in Auckland - Rock, Punk, Alternative, Dub, Funk, Soul, Pop etc. By far my favourite Bar in Auckland at the moment.
Lucha is so coooool. Every time I've been there, the music has been terrific. The cocktails are creative, and exceedingly delicious, and the beer, if you're beer-inclined (and who isn't?) is cold and well-chosen. THEY HAVE A WARM GAS FIREPLACE in the winter and cheap, excellent food. I was sold on Lucha the minute I walked in, and every minute thereafter.
Lucha is fantastic - just what Newmarket needed! A fire I enjoyed in the winter, and a wee courtyard I'm looking forward to hanging in over summer. Fantastic food made with love by one of the owners, and cocktails with a flourish by the other. They'll also hire the place out for small functions - the bar to go where they'll remember your name and possibly what you ordered last time. Check it out!
