I popped into Long Room on a warm Saturday afternoon with some girlfriends for a cheeky avo drink and was pleasantly surprised. With a great courtyard and attentive staff, we were off to a good start. With an extensive wine and beer list there was something to please everyone and table service was a lovely surprise for a bar (including offering a tab rather than having to ask and bringing the EFTPOS machine to our table!). My cold-blooded friend was blown away by the free supply of 'blankies' on each chair in the courtyard, despite not needing it on this day, the fact they were there was a great touch. All in all, the longroom was a great place for a get together with friends and if I find myself on Ponsonby Road in need of a little hydration, I wouldn't hesitate in returning to Long Room.

I do recommend getting a table in the courtyard if the weather's good.

The place is pretty friendly for kids too in the day as there was a big family having a meal at one of the long tables.

Food-wise, some items at the Longroom were stand outs, while others fell short. The crumbed calamari was fried well, but felt like it was composed of 70% flour and 30% calamari. The lamb empanadas and meatballs were forgettable.

I'd highly recommend the pork belly and the Thai fish cakes. Superb dishes. Get a bowl of chips to soak up the sauce that comes with the pork belly.

A fan of chocolate? Then get the chocolate fondant! Decadently delicious.

Big selection of drinks. Not sure about their cocktails though. Didn't really like mine. Maybe stick to their extensive wine & beer list.

Service was a bit slow. It took a while for our orders to be taken, although, the waitress was really efficient in asking for our drinks order. The staff are friendly though.

Have yet to visit when the place is busier, but definitely a great place for a slow lazy Sunday arvo. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought so, what with the steady flow of patrons coming and going.

All in all.. would love to go back and have another round of that pork belly. Yum.

really rate longroom amongst ponsonby's late night destinations. well priced drinks and staff that aren't d*&^heads. There is a bit of spunk about the place but that's what ponsonby is about really. Longroom is a large space too - especially with the outdoor setting - and thankfully it's not full to capacity.

the longroom is a cranking spot - probably the best along Ponsonby Road on a Friday night. All the glams are there and that's quite hard case seeing them strut their stuff but the bouncers are pretty relaxed and the good thing is they don't cram people in there. The bar staff at longroom are very good to - awesome how they bring the mobile eftpos along with the drinks - great service!

surprisingly good wine list and some really good tunes. Hadn't been to the Longroom before but after this experience I think I'll look to make a habit of visiting this Ponsonby bar.

went to longroom before dinner at a nearby ponsonby restaurant last week and what surprised me about the longroom was the extent of the drinks list. Both the beer and wine list is extremely comprehensive. The setting is quite sophisticated too - can quite easily see a return visit to the longroom on the cards.
