Very poor service everything took ages. Our waiter was unengaged and slow, drinks took forever then glass came out chipped. Steak was overlooked and dry, very expensive left ver unsatisfied.
During our experience here the manager sat in a booth the entire evening whilst our waitress sat tables and tried to look after us.... Ended up being an average night and was so frustrating when our waitress had to go back and forth to clarify things for us with a manager who sat in a booth with two other staff members. Perhaps if they worked that evening myself and the other guests who were paying a lot of money to be there may actually have had a better shot at enjoying our encounter with this restaurant. The food was piled high on the plate but it was massive chunks of potato and coleslaw. My steak was served well done when I had ordered medium rare, and my wife's fish tasted old/off. Hence our need to have spoken with the manager. I give it one star because its good for kids they get colouring in.
Took the kids and some extended family to Lone Star for a special birthday and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. It was tasty and the portions were generous, but not too overwhelming as they have been in the past. My husband stuck to ribs like he always does, I had chicken and we also tried the special of guacamole and corn chips, which was a nice starter with our bucket of Coronas! The staff were very friendly and they let us bring a birthday cake at no extra charge. The only complaint I have was the length of time it took for our mains to come. We were a big group of 8 adults and 5 kids, but over an hour wait for meals was just too much.
Exceptional service! Food was great. We went there for our wedding anniversary and we had such a great time. Their cocktails are amazing. I am very impressed NorthShore Lonestar! We are definately going back for more meals and cocktails. Thanks for a memorable night Lonestar!
A much different space to the Newmarket restaurant, this Lone Star's upstairs bar is great when waiting for your table or just as a separation between diners and drinkers. The prices are still a bit too high though...
great atmosphere, wonderful service and yummy food! Will definitely return. thanks Lone Star
Loved it, awesome customer service and food :)
Big fan of Lone Star, nice atmosphere and big meals. Have to get the ribs.
lone star is a great restaurant. the atmosphere is loud however a good feeling to it. great menu and prompt service!
Food 10/10. waiters 5/10. atmosphere.... What atmosphere?
I headed to the Lone Star North Shore last night with a gaggle of work colleagues desperate for a little excitement from our shift work where our boss makes us work in silence in work pens that would make battery pigs happy. And instead they screwed up our booking so didn't seat us for an hour, then took 30 minutes to take our orders. They were so slow with the drinks that we went to the bar and ordered them again, only for two sets to turn up. The food when it turned up was average at best, my quesadilla was burnt, and the other dishes around the table seemed packed so full that you couldn't see where to begin. We had taken so long that you could see the staff amassing around looking on wishing we'd leave but we hadn't even been offered desert. Which would have been a good thing because the cheesecake special I had was inedible. And considering the staff were desperate to go, we had to ask the waitress three times for the bill. Still had a good night, good company and all.
Make sure you are ravenous when you book to go to the Lone Star as the meals are huge! Their marinated pork ribs are something to look forward to....as long as you don't mind getting a little grubby from all the yummy marinade dripping over your fingers! Tasty indeed!
The Hauraki Corner restaurant's atmosphere is fun and friendly. Great spot for a gathering of friends or family.
Lone Star North Shore has the largest meals on earth! The size of the meals compare favourably with the not so cheap prices. Neither of us could eat the main course and both regret having had an entree first because it too was big. This also prevented us having a dessert. What we were able to eat was excellent and when we have a big enough appetite we will definetly go again. Highly recommended to the big eaters!
