I went here with my hubby & 2 kids. I was quite disappointed with the service of our waiter who did not know the answers to some of my questions eg. “What are the roast vegetables as per menu?”. He didn't answer nor did he make the effort to find out. Even though I still ordered roast vegetables I was given coleslaw so the waiter returned it to the kitchen. I also asked for mashed potato instead of buffalo chips but was told it was “sold out”. I requested my Angus Sirloin Steak to be cooked medium & it was given to me rare.
My hubby was well-satisfied with the signature Pork Spare Rib dish & the kids also enjoyed their meals from the kids menu. Although reservations are not required we were seated rather fast & our meals also arrived in a timely manner. No complaints about our desserts.

Went on a Saturday night, found the food quite bland. Had the chicken special, which was stuffed with bacon and spinach. Bacon tasted like Pam's bacon. Could have done with a bit more jus. Ribs were okay, not great.
Thankfully the staff made up for the disappointing food. Had a great waitress and the maitre'd was very helpful and accomodating.

We have had meals at Lone Star Manukau on more than one occasion and have found the food and Staff great. The waiters go out of their way to help. We prefer to sit at the bench/side tables and will wait to get one of these tables. The music from the bar next door is the only off putting thing but with great food and company you will put up with it. Price is average for the great servings that you get and doggy bags available if you can't fit it all in. Recommend that you all try this Lone Star!

Lone Star Restaurant has a really good atmosphere, with a bar on one side and dining area on the other. The only problem is that it's really busy and because you can't book before hand be prepared for a long wait on busy nights. This is ok if you have time, as you can wait in the bar area and have a drink, but if you're in a rush not the best place. The meals are not as big as I thought they would be, it is quite expensive but the staff are very efficient and overall Lone Star in Manukau is a good restaurant.

We went to Lone Star Manukau on a Wednesday night and were surprised at how busy it was. It was packed! The staff were all very friendly and efficient and our young waitress was very friendly. The food was very good and was huge!!


The restaurant and bar are very tidy and still look new. The only drawback was the prices. I was a bit surprised at them. You won't get any change out of $100 for two people! All in all, it was a very nice dining experience and I would have rated it higher if it weren't for the highish prices.
