I've had so many yummy things at Little & Friday that I don't know which ones I should talk about! I am a big fan of pastry and to me no-one does it as well as this place. The toppings on their tarts (sweet and savoury) are all delicious, fresh and interesting, but the pastry just melts in your mouth. The doughnuts totally live up to their reputation and the cakes are a work of art. I also love the fact that although the food is a real treat, it is all homemade and fresh and natural, and you come away feeling really good about what you've eaten. The coffee is excellent too.
Little & Friday is (was) the Shore's best kept secret. It's quite the operation now, but really pleased that despite the success, it hasn't gone to their head. Still get recognised and I only visit Little & Friday every week/fortnight.
If there's one item you should try on their menu, it is the Chocolate Brioche...get them when they've just come out of the oven and you won't regret it.
Loved this place, my review http://wp.me/p1DW6n-3C is but the smallest snippit of its awesomeness!! Can't wait to try out Little & Fridays North Shore branch <3Wish more cafes were as adorable and lovable as this gem. x
I love love love this place! I'm so glad you guys opened a Little & Friday branch in Newmarket. Best day of my life. Can't wait for your book! Hope it has the donut/ sav brioche dough recipe because I'll happily eat a billion. My rave on the blog :) http://wp.me/p1DW6n-3C -Feedback welcome!
Two visits in two days tells you something about how good a venue is! Both Sat and Sun (greedy I know) I ventured down to Little and Friday on the North Shore for a few moorish items. Had the chicken and leek pie on the sat and the brioche on the sunday (oh - and there was the 'small' issue of a pear tart that I couldnt say no to. Little & Friday has got to be the best cafe in Auckland by a long-shot - judging by all the glowing reviews here I'm pleased to see consitency is obviously their strong point - well done Little & Friday!
Met a friend at Little & Friday for the first time today. Was completely blown away by the food and coffee. Started with a bacon and egg melt in the mouth pie and good strong coffee, then finished off with a tamarillo bread and butter pudding with vanilla custard. Wow! delicious food from Little & Friday definitely recommend.
Great coffee this morning - and the brioche fantastic. It seems the Little & Friday juggernaut just keeps on rumbling - so many other venues could learn a bit from Little & Friday!
Little and Friday looked great - the cakes looked beyond yummy, but we left after waiting 15 minutes in the queue as there wasn't any space to sit. Will definitely be back, hopefully at a quieter time and actually get to try some of the fantastic looking food!
irresistible! Always get fantastic service at Little & Friday despite the burgeoning crowds - combine their great coffee, service and the delicious treats (bacon and egg pie is first class) and it's hard to argue that there are better cafes around that Little and Friday (esp on the shore!). Well done guys!
I just adore Little & Friday. The coffee is great, the barista always keen for a cheery chat even if the place is slammed as it was last Saturday when I went in for takeaways. The donuts are just amazing and we had a savoury brioche/muffin which was to die for too. The prices are a bit steep but worth it! Cannot wait for them to open the Newmarket shop (due in the next week or two)!
How do I love thee....let me count the ways.....Little and Friday is one of those places that you just HAVE to try at least once. Kim (the owner) has created a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. The food is superb..... free range eggs, organic ingredients and whether you're after sweet or savoury, there's something to appeal to all tastes. Big ups to the incredibly friendly staff, who ALWAYS have a smile and cheery hellos. Just found out that Little & Friday are opening Tues-Sun now for summer, so there's only one day a week where I don't get my fix. (could always get a spare choc brioche on Sunday and warm it up on Monday...).
Currently on the otherside of the world and just thinking about the awesome food that Little & Friday's has. 3 people here are salivating at the mouth thinking about it. Think it will be the first place I go when I get back to NZ in 5 months time.
Stylish poverty chic surroundings and food with flair. If you feel guilty about sweet things best avoided.
I think I am their biggest fan!!!, Little & Friday is a fantastic place, awesome people, awesome food. The brioche is to died for along with everything else. Everything is fresh out of the oven, and made from scratch. Often, us locals have to call ahead just to make sure we don't miss out. This cafe is always full in the weekend, the coffee is great, the food, is something you need to experience, only thing is they are only open Wed-Sun 8.00-3.00. Which is probably a good thing, because we would be broke otherwise.Truly fantastic place, just try anything you will fall in love.
The food at Little and Friday is outstanding!! Just what the doctor ordered on a Sunday morning........chocolate brioche, savouries with the yummiest pastry and good strong coffee. Love the place and the staff but wish it had more seating!!
Little & Friday is Amazing...I have travelled far & wide to get to their absolutly WOW treats!!! Everyone i have brought to try there wonderful food also ends up falling in love with the place too!!!! GREAT food & GREAT service ..top job guys!!!xox Sophie
After reading about Little & Friday in the viewauckland newsletter we had to check out the cafe for ourselves earlier today.
Although it's not swanky, there was literally a queue out the door on our visit at lunchtime on sat.
No seating room, so we just got a few takeaway brioches and the sausage rolls (and a macaroon) as well as some coffee and headed down to Narrowneck beach.
The sausage roll was the best you're likely to find anywhere in Auckland - simply outstanding. All the other items were good as well and the coffee was top notch.
It's hard to fault but the only thing that let's Little & Friday down is the access to and from lake road - getting onto lake road from eversleigh is near on impossible.
Little & Friday has become the weekend treat since discovering the place a few weeks ago.
You have to go hunting for it (it's on eversleigh road just opposite Takapuna Grammar) but make sure you do take the effort and suss it out.
Great coffee and staff but the food is the real reason you go there - take my advice and go early and nab either the chocolate or savoury brioches - you'd be hard pressed to find a better cafe in the North Shore!
